His Father, 36 year old farmer, and his mother have 8 other children. Out of 9 children total, 4 are currently in school because they cannot afford to send all of them. Jonathan's father was involved in a motorcycle accident that affected his spinal cord and left him helpless for a very long time. He couldn't meet the needs of his family, so his wife and the children had to figure out alternative ways to put food on the table and take care of medical bill and other needs. The family is still very much in need, and Jonathan really wants to stay in school.
