Gift lives in a one room grass-thatch house with her 4 siblings and both parents. Gift's parents do small scale farming/gardening to make a meager living for their family. With 5 children and two of them being born with albinism, it is increasingly difficult for them to meet all the basic needs. Gift needs sun lotion, sunglasses, hats, and lip balm to help prevent skin cancer. Unfortunately, her father is not loving towards her or the other child with albinism, since it is seen as a curse in that area. The father only loves and provides for the children without albinism. The mother works hard baking and selling pan cakes to provide for the other two children.
