Esther lives with her grandmother in a miserable looking little house in the Kamwokya slums, surrounded by trenches of waste. She was abandoned by both her parents. The grandmother makes bags to try to make some income. Sadly, it's hardly enough to feed them both, let alone to send Esther to school. Someone was helping them out for a while, sending Esther to school. But now that friend can no longer help, so Esther has not been in school for a while.
