William lives in a one room house with his mother, grandmother, and sister. They all sleep together on the floor without proper bedding. The family is Catholic. The father abandoned the family a long time ago, and William's mother has no way to support them both on her own. She tries to do odd jobs so they can at least get one meal a day. She often digs for other people's gardens and washes their clothes. William is a very bright kid and enjoyed being at school. He was in Primary 1 but had to drop out since his mother could not pay the school fees. Our staff thinks this child has great potential to grow up and help his community and even help his nation, if empowered to go to school and thrive in life.
