Simon lives in the Katwe slums, in a tiny makeshift house with this Uncle's family. The family sleeps on old bags and boxes. Simon has an older brother, younger sister, mom and dad who live in another district. Simon lives with his uncle in Kampala because he believes there would be a better chance for him to be able to attend school there. His uncle was paying his school fees, but his uncle got sick and died, and he is now left with his uncle's wife, who cannot afford to take care of the children or send them to school.  Simon started begging and collecting scraps to make a little money so that he could go back to school. But his aunt takes all the money he makes and uses it to buy alcohol. Simon really wants to go back to school to make something of his life. When he was in school, he performed very well, and is a very bright young man! He dreams of becoming a doctor in the future.
