Desire's mother is a single mom who works as a vendor and takes care of Desire and her sister Bridget. They all live together in one hut and Desire shares her bed with her sister. When Desire’s father abandoned the family, it became very difficult for Lydia (Desire’s mother) to provide for the family let alone pay school fees. So sadly, Desire had to quit school. Desire is now in school because of her sponsor. She loves school and hopes to never have to quit school again.
