Mercy
Mercy lives with her father, a fisherman, Grandmother, and three sisters. Mercy’s mother died when Mercy was 5 years old. Everybody around Mercy calls her Yaaya, which means “an elderly woman of wisdom”. The family lives in a one room hut with no light. Going without food from day to day is a usual way of life for Mercy. Despite the hardships, Mercy strives for education. She is currently in school and has recently lost her sponsor.
