Jesca
Jesca is a sweet wonderful little girl! Sadly, when Jesca’s parents learned she was born with albinism, both of them abandoned her. The grandparents stepped in to care for her, but the disapproving talk of the neighbors became too much for them. As a result, they kept Jesca indoors almost from birth, mostly just lying on a bed. As a result, at three years old, she could not crawl, walk or stand on her own. She would smile and seem to hear and understand, but did not talk. When our staff member Sophie visited the family, she had the grandparents take her outside into the sunshine for the very first time. Thankfully now she has caught up in school and can talk and walk like a normal 7 year old girl.
