Kyengera (pronounced chenjera) is a town in Central Uganda, near the capital city of Kampala. This project started in 2015 in the area of Mubende, a town about 90 miles from Kyengera, with just one family whose father abandoned them because the children were born with a very special skin defect - albinism. Our Uganda National Coordinator, Resty, discovered this family and took them under ECM's wing. Later, the family had to move closer to Kyengera, because the father was posing a threat to the entire family. This became the Kyengera project, where the albino and other vulnerable children have an opportunity to go to school and attend Saturday Bible Club.
